Tomoyo is Sakura's best friend. She is also a fourth grader at Tomoeda Elementary School. She is very smart and comes from a very rich family. Tomoyo and Sakura's mothers were cousins. Her mother works for a business that makes toys, and Tomoyo often gets to try out toys before the come out on the market. She has a group of female body guards with her that stay out of sight.
Tomoyo has a crush on Sakura, but never acts on it. It makes her happy just to make Sakura happy, even if Sakura doesn't love her in the same way. When she notices Shaoran beginning to like Sakura she acts as their personal matchmaker. She does her best to keep everyone happy. She and Meilin work together to get Sakura to tell Shaoran that she loves him.
She designs and makes all the costumes that Sakura wears when capturing Clow cards. She does this because Sakura always comes back when she wears Tomoyo's costumes. She likes to photograph things and likes to record Sakura's adventures on video tape. Tomoyo is also very good at singing, often getting solos in the school's choir concerts or festivals.
