Nadeshiko is the mother of Sakura and Touya. She married Fujitaka when she was still in high school and he was a teacher. She was 16 and he was 25. She had been a model since she was in junior high. She died shortly after giving birth to Sakura, when she was 27 years old. She was very close friends with her cousin Sonomi, Tomoyo's mother. She spent a lot of time with her grandfather, who lives in a big house in the country. She wrote a song of her own and taught it to Touya when he was young.
She kept a calendar marked with all the important events in her life, such as birthdays and important days at school for Touya. Whenever Touya's birthday wasn't printed on the calendar she would write it in. (His birthday is on February 29, which only comes once ever four years.) All her present were handmade and would usually be accompanied by a letter and some nadeshiko flowers.
Her spirit often showes up in the show to check up on Sakura or Fujitaka.
