Li Meilin is Shaoran's fiance and cousin. She is deeply in love with him, but doubts that he loves her. She transfered to Japan from Hong Kong to help Shaoran find the Clow Cards. She doesn't have any magical power herself, but is very proud and skilled in martial arts. She is also very competitive and a fair cook. She is constantly acting as Shaoran's personal cheerleader.
She fell in love with Shaoran when they were both children growing up and training together. She made him promise that they would be engaged until he found someone he loved more. When she goes back to Hong Kong in the second season, she reminds Shaoran of the promise and kinda gives her okay for him to pursue Sakura. After Shaoran tells Sakura that he loves her, she promts Sakura to give him her answer.
