Episode 1: The Phantom Theif Comes with Notice
Kaitou Jeanne has stolen a painting. The police chase her, but can't catch her. The next day Maron is late to practice. Her friend Miyako complains because Jeanne got away the previous night. They have to arrange the things for practice because they're freshmen. Miyako goes to the crime scene because her father is a detective. Their teacher breaks up their fight. They go to the apartmen that they live in. Maron checks her mail but there's nothing there. Miyako knocks over a bunch of boxes. Chiaki helps Miyako up and she yells at him. Miyako and Maron live across the hall from each other. Miyako's mother greets Miyako when she opens the door. No one is at Maron's house. On the news a reporter tells about someone who's been defiling paintings. Jeanne's notice is sent to the artist who painted the defiled paintings. Fin comes home to Maron and tells her of the job. Fin says Maron is the reincarnation of Jeanne d'Arc and must seal demons who inhabit beautiful objects and try to destroy mankind. Miyako's family invites Maron over for dinner. Miyako mentions Jeanne's notice. Miyako's family tries to convince her not to go to the crime scenes. Later Maron looks at a picture of her family while Fin tries to convince her to go. Maron agrees to steal the painting. The next night Miyako is at the scene with her father. Maron is on a nearby building. She jumps off and changes into Jeanne d'Arc. She uses her rebound ball to get past the police, but is spotted. She falls in a hole and gets spotlighted. She enters the house. She catches Miyako and the detectives in their own trap. The artist attacks her, but she seals it. The painting turns into a chesspiece. Miyako launches a net at her but she evades it.
